On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, with the participation of prominent leaders including President Barzani (Leader of the Kurdish People), Nechirvan Barzani (President of the Kurdistan Region), and Masrour Barzani (Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government), a ceremony commemorating "National Struggle Day" took place in the city of Erbil. 

The event was also attended by Prof. Dr. Diyar Abdulkareem Saeed, the President of the University of Zakho, marking his participation in this significant occasion. 

The ceremony witnessed the presence of a significant number of high-ranking officials and leaders from Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and various parts of the world. It also included the participation of parliamentarians from several countries, as well as representatives of governments from the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
